Old Amsterdam was born from an uncompromising quest for the best taste, in which innovation and entrepreneurship were paramount.

An independent research institute was given an impossible task by the Westland family: develop a recipe for the tastiest aged cheese. A cheese with ripening crystals and a spicy taste, which is still creamy and sliceable.

This resulted in a patented process in which knowledge across national borders was combined with Dutch common sense. Taste, according to our own rules.
